The President-Elect assists the President in the chapters planning and administration and performs the duties in her absence. She becomes familiar with all the committees and their responsibilities to assist in recruiting and delegation efforts. Should the office of the President become vacant, the President-Elect will step into this role. The Membership Director, with her committee, is responsible for promoting the growth of a diverse chapter membership through the activities of recruitment, hospitality, orientation, and retention. They are also responsible for managing the chapters member and prospect database and the application process, both in accordance with NAWBO policy. The Corporate & Economic Development Director, with her committee, is responsible for the cultivation of corporate partner relationships and special event sponsors for the chapter, and any other sources of revenue deemed appropriate by the board. The committee is also develops a network of financial and educational resources that contribute to the economic development of individual members. The Corporate and Economic Development Committee collaborates with the Outreach Committee in community support efforts.
The Public Policy Director, with her committee, is responsible for the public policy education of chapter members through the communication of NAWBOs public policy positions and activities and the coordination of all legislative visits by chapter members.It also coordinates chapter relations with local and regional political and public policy leaders and encourages their participation in chapter meetings.
The Program & Special Events Director, with her committee, is responsible for developing the meeting programs and speakers relevant to the chapter needs for each operating year. After each meeting, the committee collects member evaluations for each meeting and regularly reviews member comments for the purpose of continuously improving program delivery. The Program and Special Events Committee submits attendance lists to the membership director and treasurer after each meeting. The Program and Special Events Committee plans, coordinates, and produces all chapter special events, including fund-raising and awards programs, while collaborating with the Corporate and Economic Development Committee. The Public Relations Director, with her committee, communicates all public information about the chapters activities and events to the chapter's constituents throughout the community. Through a marketing plan that it creates, it is responsible for managing the chapters brand image and developing consistent media opportunities for both chapter activities and chapter members. The committee also coordinates all printed collaterals and publications and ensures that they are branded consistently to NAWBO's published standards. The Public Relations Committee collaborates with the Communications Committee in supporting the consistent and timely flow of communication. The Communications Director, with her committee, coordinates the dissemination of any and all information related to the growth, education, development, community programs or public policy issues of the board and chapter to the chapter members. Its activities are focused on building awareness, participation and support among the chapters members for all chapter, community, and NAWBO organizational events.Through electronic means such as email, surveys and the chapter website, the Communications Committee manages the chapters flow of information to ensure accurate, consistent and professional communications on behalf of the chapter and its board. The Outreach, Education & Mentoring Director, with her committees, is responsible for identifying and promoting professional education programs relevant to chapter members. It is also responsible for the coordination and implementation of specialized chapter level educational programs including but not limited to NAWBO University, national teleclasses or a local speakers bureau. The Mentoring and Education Committee shall facilitate the following: NAWBO in the Morning/Evening, Business Builders Roundtable and mentoring programs.The Outreach Committee is responsible for all community programs, including but not limited to GIRLSBIZ and Business Womens Expo. The Secretary shall serve as a director; accurately recording all actions of the board in detailed minutes of each board meeting, assuring that the corporate records, including board meeting minutes, are properly maintained and performing other duties as specified by the president.
