As a woman business owner, I am sure you have had those days… days of complete and utter joy of experiencing success and those days of frustration and despair. We have all been there. But when you are a member of NAWBO you don’t have to experience those feelings alone.
Hi, I’m Barbara Schlaefer this year’s chapter president. As a woman business owner, I understand firsthand the challenges and rewards that come with the territory. NAWBO has been that positive constant force in my business life as I have navigated from a start up to a small firm.
The support I have received during my last five years include participation in a business builders round table, panel discussions, informal idea sharing at NAWBO in the morning and, of course, the friendships of so many incredible women.
We are a unique organization that caters to the needs of women business owners. Our mission is to propel women into spheres of influence economically and politically.
I am proud to serve as your 2009 – 2010 president and to give back to an organization that has helped me so much.
Our volunteer board of women has put together an incredible year of programming including presentations from some of the most well known women in our community, a lively and informative panel about the future of healthcare and NAWBO success stories. This year we will also continue our ever popular progressive dinners where participants can network with a large number of women in a short period of time. In 2010, we will continue our tradition of our silent auction to benefit a local non-profit organization for the betterment of women.
